✨The sight of cherry blossoms alongside landmarks like Togetsukyo Bridge and the Oi River is said to be beautiful✨

Arashiyama’s cherry blossoms are usually in full bloom from late March to early April each year. Arashiyama is home to approximately 1,500 cherry trees, including mountain cherry, Somei Yoshino, double-flowered cherry, and weeping cherry varieties.

🔸The Hozugawa River Boat Ride travels along the Hozu River (Hozukyo) from Kameoka to Arashiyama. During the ride, you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Hozugawa River, featuring attractions like Umbrella Rock, Armor Rock, Frog Rock, Gourd Rock, Book Rock, Numb Rock, and Lotus Rock. There are also cherry blossoms along the Hozu River (Hozukyo).

🔸Arashiyama is a mountain with an elevation of approximately 382 meters located west of Togetsukyo Bridge over the Katsura River, a primary river of the Yodo River system, in Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Arashiyama is designated as a national historic site and a place of scenic beauty. It is also renowned as one of Japan’s top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots and top 100 autumn foliage viewing spots.

👉🏻Did you know❓
Arashiyama was a villa area for nobles during the Heian period and has long been a scenic spot immortalized in many waka poems and other works. Nowadays, when people refer to Arashiyama, they typically mean not just the mountain itself but the entire area encompassing the right bank of the Katsura River (Arashiyama in Nishikyo Ward) and the left bank of the Katsura River (Saga Arashiyama in Ukyo Ward), making it one of Kyoto’s most famous tourist destinations.

It is a beautiful place regardless of the season😊
