✨Toji Temple (Kyoto)✨

Visit Toji Temple and be overwhelmed by its impressive presence

Toji Temple is the sole remaining relic of Heian-kyo, boasting a history of approximately 1,200 years.
In 1994, during the 6th year of the Heisei era, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

While Toji Temple is renowned as a tourist destination in Kyoto, its fame as a cherry blossom viewing spot isn’t as high.

In truth, within Toji, there lies a beautiful sight created by a 120-year-old tree and the five-story pagoda, but this aspect remains relatively unknown. Consequently, it doesn’t draw crowds like other famous cherry blossom spots in Kyoto.

It could be said to be a recommended location for those who wish to elegantly enjoy cherry blossoms😊

Don’t miss TOSAIGA exhibition at Toji Temple🤩

TOSAIGA is a new art form of ceramic painting utilizing the Arita-yaki, or Arita ware techniques.
It started from the artist Kusaba’s passion and desire to create beautiful art with vivid and delicate hues, glosses, and sparkles on the theme of “life”.
This special art of ceramic painting features different hues and sparkles depending on the viewing angle and the light.
