✨⛩️Yasaka Shrine⛩️✨
Yasaka Shrine, also known as Gion Shrine, is located between Gion and Higashiyma District on the east end of Shijo-dori, the main street of Kyoto.

This lively Shrine continued to watch the history of Kyoto and it is home to the Gion Festival which has been held at Yasaka Shrine since the Heian period (794-1185) to pray for the elimination of epidemics and other calamities, as well as on New Year’s Eve, people make a pilgrimage to pray for good health and safety in the following year.

The adjacent Maruyama Park is one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in Kyoto. There are world heritage sites and important cultural properties scattered around the area, so it’s a good idea to take a leisurely stroll 😊
